Largest truffle producer in southern hemisphere

 

The Wine & Truffle Co. is the largest producer of fresh truffles in the southern hemisphere. The property is located three and a half hours drive south of Perth and has 13,000 hazelnut and oak trees producing black truffles each winter. The trees were planted in 1997, with the first ruffle found 6 years on.

 

The truffiere is surrounded by vines and each year since 2002 winemaker, Mark Aitken has produced wines, now under the boutique label 'Truffle Hill'. There is a team of specialty truffle hunting dogs who feature on our wine label - they are our greatest hunters. A range of gourmet truffle products are also available, allowing the unique flavour of truffles to be enjoyed year round.

The property has a cellar door and café where our wines and truffle products can be sampled or perhaps even a truffle influenced meal can be enjoyed. Truffle hunts are held during the fresh truffle season (June - August) discover how and participate in locating the rare and wondrous black truffle, which is often referred to as ‘black gold’ or ‘black diamond’.
