Barossa Valley, South Australia Handmade and all natural muesli 100% South Australian fruit and almonds Certified organic oats locally milled Featured in Country Living
Whilst the Barossa Valley is well known for its award winning wines, it is a little known fact that the valley has a rich tradition of orchards. Following this tradition Fleming & Ware produce handmade mueslis using rolled oats and millet flakes that are organic and locally milled at Tarlee in South Australia. The fruits are supplied by local growers in Murray River and Angaston districts of South Australia in response to the increasing proportion of imported fruit being marketed under Australian colours. The almonds are also grown and processed in South Australia.
Lee and her husband John started Fleming & Ware after taking a redundancy from the IT industry that ultimately enabled her to indulge in her lifelong passion for food. Lee started by selling fresh pasta at the Barossa Farmers Market and after successfully selling her product for six months became the Market Manager for the next three and a half years.
The Barossa Farmers Market is one of the largest in the area and all the produce is grown by the stallholders, often picked or cut on the morning of the market. It is held every Sunday come rain hail or forty degree heat in a classically designed one hundred year old Heritage listed wine shed.
Lee and John handcraft their healthy and delicious mueslis in their picture perfect little town called Angaston in the Barossa Valley. |
